The third entry in The Babylonian Castle Saga is a prequel, with you playing as the character Gil rescues in The Tower of Druaga in yet another different genre for the series.
It's all pretty contextual. If something is available I play it the official way on modern hardware. If the scanlines and shaders and such are good instead of awful (some are just waaaay too dark!), I use those (sometimes, sadly, the screenshots look bad with scanlines and filters on, but in-game they can look good, as was the case here with The Quest of Ki). I play on original hardware when possible, too, like if I can find something I want for a decent price or have a modded console or whatever. Emulation is more out of necessity than anything, and I just say that if something I've emulated re-releases I'll buy it, which my collection of shoot 'em ups is plenty of evidence of the truth in that.
How do you typically play games from this era? Emulation? Do you have opinions on things like shaders, scanlines, etc?
