Not into wrestlers but I have some online friends who are. The bit about the story mode's variety makes me think of fighting games, which have the problem of some modes feeling like little more than a sequence of VS mode matches. IEW Championship sounds miles ahead of the traditional arcade mode, which bores me more often than not. I can see why people compare some fighting game storytelling to wrestling.
Really cool! I still have a Neo-Geo Pocket Color. Had I known about this game when it came out I probably would’ve imported it. Glad it’s available in the collection! I’ll be picking that up for sure.
It was a great little handheld! I got it right as it released. It checked all my boxes: a new console from SNK, a bit more powerful than GameBoy Color (which I think was the primary competition then. Sega was not supporting Game Gear by then). And if I recall, it even linked up to the Dreamcast? There was a nice little Sonic game on the Pocket, I think the DC link had something to do with that? I wish it would’ve sold better, as they really had a great product. I think it did okay though and had a decent game library, but when SNK and Playmore merged they discontinued it. (Which I understand, competing with Nintendo in the handheld space at that time, and now, is an uphill battle for sure.)

It's just a little thing in the presentation, but it really does benefit the mode and differentiate it like you said

I've never played an actual Pocket Color, but someday I'll get my hands on one. I just have to know!
