There's an unofficial translation of all three parts of SFIII that I'm planning to get to. I'm very curious how much different it is when you've got three perspective games to go through compared to North America's one.
I came late to Shining Force II (and then the original) via the Genesis Collection on my PSP, but it was such a fun game. Really enjoyed all the background, only a little of which I knew before. Thanks, Marc!
Ah, the Shining games on Genesis were very much my bag back in the day, due to my brother's choice of a Genesis over an SNES. I missed out on Final Fantasy 2 and 3, but it's hard to regret getting to enjoy some of these less-famous offerings.
If you haven't yet, you should try the Genesis version of Shadowrun. Shockingly ahead of its time as an open-world cyberpunk action RPG, including a complete Matrix implementation.
I'm familiar with the SNES version of Shadowrun, but I really need to try the Genesis one, too. What I really want is the Sega CD Shadowrun because Compile developed it, but there's no translation for it.
Oh, wow, that Sega-CD one almost looks like a VN, but Shadowrun and in 1996. Crazy.
It's weird because the SNES Shadowrun and the Genesis Shadowrun have virtually nothing in common except the IP. That's kinda rare for the few games that existed on both platforms, so I think a lot of people who played the SNES back in the day don't realize they missed out. And the Genesis one really is so good.
Come to think of it, I wonder if the devs on it went on to do anything similarly forward-looking.
I’ve been playing this on my Switch. LOVED this as a kid.
I wish I had been able to play number 3.
