Great read. I'm playing this game for the very first time thanks to the Sonic Origins collection on Switch. As a 90's kid, I was always into Nintendo so I never gave Sonic much of a thought or try until the Advance games and those didn't hook me much. So this is the first classic Sonic game I'm really trying and I'm enjoying it, I'm in City Light or Star Light Zone or something, the platforming is reasonably enjoyable and I like the sound of the gameplay mostly evolving over the course of the original games. The Sonic movie of all things was the first time I really got the appeal of the characters.
