The best of the games I played for the first time in 2023, that weren't from 2023.
"Attack of the Friday Monsters! A Tokyo Tale" is one of my all-time favs!
It's so good! And I'm disappointed that it's just... not there anymore.
How'd you play Burning Rangers? I tried to emulate it a little while ago and had a heap of trouble getting it to run.
Actual (softmodded) Saturn hardware! Saturn emulation has enough issues that I decided a few years back this is how I wanted to handle those games.
That's fair. I just can't afford an actual Saturn let alone the games. I'll keep struggling with emulation. 😅
Progress keeps being made on that front! It was just really dire back when I made this decision.
I’m a relatively new subscriber so this is the first time I’ve seen your Retro Games of the Year and I love it! Super cool idea and a really fun read.
Thanks! I play and write about so many games (as well as more recent Not New titles that aren't a fit for a feature here) that it's fun to go back and see what the best of that bunch was. Glad it's enjoyable for readers, too.
Cave Noire is a masterpiece. Seriously one of the best Gameboy games ever Why the hell wasn't it localised.
