Thanks! And absolutely, I recently picked up my first Everdrive for Genesis so I could play Master System games on it and use arcade sticks for the appropriate Genesis games. There's no real "legitimate" way to so that stuff for so many titles!
Great read! I think I have both games on Wii. No save states there unfortunately. Are these games where save states provide an enormous QoL improvement? I ask because I'm thinking of getting them on Wii U. And not to spoil a possible future article, but is Neutopia II worthwhile?
It's been a long time since I played the sequel (probably back when it released on Virtual Console!) but if I'm remembering right it managed to improve upon some systems of the first without being very distinguishable from the first game. So, if you liked the first, you'll like the second, but if you wanted major leaps forward or whatever, you'll like it less.
There are a whole bunch of save points, so I don't think it's as vital to have save states as it can be for some games from the same genre that released a few years earlier. But if you were already going to grab a Wii U and load it up before the shop closes down on March 27, then at least they aren't an expensive rebuy.
Great piece. Also a reminder to why I support emulators and Everdrives. I wish this game was easier to get.

Thanks for the info!
