I have my puzzle games where I can do pretty well, but yeah, it's one I love more than it loves me. My wife tends to figure them out as we play even if I've got a head start in knowing them, and then crushes me in the back end.
I'm having memories of a similar game, where the characters were all based on tarot cards, I think? And maybe had different .. uh .. specials, that came with combos? It was a two-player speed battle left right split screen, but even against the AI was quite fun. Any idea what I'm talking about and if it's related to this or the same developer?
Aha! Thats the one. I remember the character, World, with the third eye on her forehead, was my favorite for some reason and became my online alias for a while.
This was one of the arcade machines that was for some reason in the lounge area, at some college i went to band camp at several times.
I'm a sucker for these games, but not that good at them...

Are you thinking of Magical Drop?

Oh wow. I've never played it on a cabinet, just ports and through Arcade Archives. It's lots of fun, even if I'm no good at it.
